How is the Connector Detector powered?
The Detector is powered with a standard 120V wall outlet.
What are the tolerances?
There are many variables that can affect how far off a plate must be to set off the alarm on the Connector Detector. Gross misplacement will show up, minor misalignment will often not. It is important to remember that the Connector Detector is not a replacement for engineering and workmanship, and is intended to detect missing plates.
How durable is the Connector Detector?
Out of the many dozens of Connector Detectors currently in use, only one has had a minor sensor problem, which was quickly fixed. The machines are reliable and durable.
How easy is it to install?
The Connector Detector can be installed by anyone comfortable with hand tools by carefully following the provided installation instructions (download PDF). If you purchase three or more Connector Detectors, KMI owner John Koorsen will personally install them for you.
